USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Class (CC class is the same minus HD information):

Gain the knowledge, skills and attitude to safely carry a firearm for self-defense, exceeding the requirement for a Montana Concealed Weapons Permit, as well as many other states. Nine hours of classroom instruction will be followed by one hour of individual live fire one-on-one with an instructor on a private range. Range time, included as part of the class, will be scheduled separately with the instructor. Instructors will also offer students the opportunity to complete the requirements to obtain a Utah Concealed Firearms Permit.

Additionally, you will learn rules for safe gun handling; developing a personal and home protection plan; home security; firearms basics such as pistol parts and operation, ammunition, firearms cleaning & storage and defensive firearms selection; shooting fundamentals, grip, stance, and trigger control; legal use of force, use of force continuum, four pillars of deadly force, Montana and Federal Law; physiological & psychological reactions to violent encounters & their aftermath; firearms gear & accessories; and continued opportunities for skill development.

This course is also designed for persons not interested in obtaining a concealed weapons permit, but desire to increase their recognition of danger and how to not become a victim, without necessarily requiring to use any level of force. Having a handgun is not a prerequisite for this class; a handgun can be rented to complete the range portion. If you choose not shoot a firearm, you may receive a certificate of completion for the Non-Firing Curriculum.

The course book is NOT required. However, students are highly encouraged to read prior to class. Course book can be obtained through the instructor or Sportsman & Ski Haus gun counter.
